Election Commission considering introduction of E-voting system, NA told
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs says system is only working in India and Govt of Pakistan is also studying its merits and demerits.
The National Assembly was informed on Thursday that the Election Commission is studying whether to hold the next general elections through Electronic Voting Machines or not.
During question hour, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmad said the system is only working in India and we are studying its merits and demerits.
Answering a question, Sheikh Aftab Ahmad said Faisalabad-Multan Motorway is being constructed in four phases. The first phase of Faisalabad-Gojra Motorway has already been completed while work on the rest three phases is going on.
He said Overlay and Modernization of 357 KM Islamabad-Lahore Motorway will be completed in 24 months.
To a question regarding pending cases in Civil Courts at Islamabad Capital Territory, Minister for Law and Justice Pervaiz Rashid told the House that civil courts are governed by the Islamabad High Court.
To a question, Parliamentary Secretary for Natural Resources Shahzadi Umerzadi Tiwana denied any ban on the installation of gas meters for domestic consumers. She said the government has allowed private sector to import LNG and incentives have also been given in the private sector for this purpose.
Minister of State for Natural Resources Jam Kamal told the House that the price of imported LNG will be a bit higher than CNG.
Replying to a call attention notice, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmad told the House that the government is focusing on constructing new roads and highways and repairing the old ones to provide better communication facilities to the people.
Replying to another call attention notice, Sheikh Aftab Ahmad said work on construction of overhead bridge in Main Bazaar, Takht Bhai in Mardan is going on rapidly will be completed by next years.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab introduced "The National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Bill, 2015" before the House.
Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Resources Jam Kamal laid before the House "The Gas (Theft Control and Recovery) Bill, 2014".
