Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali has said one thousand and seven hundred megawatt electricity would be added to national grid by the 15 of next month.

He was addressing a public meeting on the occasion of inauguration of Grid station at Fatehpur in district Layyah.

The State Minister said the power will be supplied from Guddu power plant, Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park and Nandipur projects.

He said that the government had started work on new projects of eight thousand and three hundred megawatts with the cooperation of China to overcome prevailing energy crisis in the country.

He said efforts are underway to produce three thousand and six hundred megawatt electricity from LNG.      

The minister said that the prime minister has reduced the price of electricity by four rupees per unit to provide relief to consumers.
