Secretary Sports Punjab Muhammad Aamir Jan has said that overwhelming success of recently staged Punjab Open Inter-Division Boxing Championship showed that Punjab has plenty of boxing talent. 

He said that Punjab Boxing Championship provided sufficient opportunity to boxers of far-flung and remote areas to exhibit their talent.

The secretary said that the third position of DG Khan Division in the grand championship showed that Punjab's remote areas also have plenty of boxing potential.

He said that hundreds of young boxers including women featured in massive trials activity to book a berth in Punjab Open Inter-Division Boxing Championship.

He said this championship is just the beginning and the board will conduct more such grand boxing events in future.

Secretary Sports Punjab said that Sports Board Punjab has taken several effective measures for the promotion of boxing in the province.

He said Sports Board Punjab will continue to provide enough opportunities to the talented youth of the province in future under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
