Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas called on with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron in the West Bank city of Ramallah and discussed latest developments of the peace process and regionals affairs.

According to Palestinian news agency WAFA, Abbas highlighted France's role in saving the political process from the stalemate caused by Israel's intransigence.

For his part, Macron reaffirmed his country's support for the peace process in the region on the basis of the two-state solution.

He said France will continue to support the Palestinian people in building their institutions and economy.
