US urges Myanmar to take urgent action to end violence against Rohingya Muslims
The United States has urged Myanmar to take urgent action to end the violence in Rakhine state.
US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Patrick Murphy told media on a conference call from Bangkok on Friday that Significant responsibility sits with security authorities and local officials in Rakhine state.
He said actions need to be taken to stop this violence and facilitate humanitarian assistance.
While pointing out the commitments made by Suu Kyi in her last speech, Murphy said we are looking for their cooperation to make these commitments a reality.
