AJK legislative Assembly continues debate on budget
Shaukat Hussain Shah says insufficient amount has been allocated for Kashmiri refugees settled in Pakistan.
The Azad Jammu and Kashmir legislative Assembly resumed its debate on the budget proposals for the next fiscal year in Muzaffarabad on Monday.
Speaker Sardar Ghulam Sadiq Khan presided.
Opposition member Syed Shaukat Hussain Shah while taking part in the debate criticized the budget proposals.
He said opposition members have not been consulted during the preparation of budget.
Shaukat Hussain Shah said insufficient amount has been allocated for Kashmiri refugees settled in Pakistan.
He thanked Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army staff General Raheel Sharif for adopting courageous and bold stand for resolving lingering Kashmir dispute under UN resolutions
Opposition member Muhammad Yasin Gulshan termed the budget unbalanced.
He said priority has not been given to the promotion of education and health sectors.
Yasin Gulshan demanded equal development funds for the opposition members.
From treasury bench, MLA Miss Sadaf Sheikh termed the budget balanced and welfare oriented. She felicitated the Minister for finance for allocating adequate development funds for communication sector which would not only help promote tourism but also facilitate the local people.
