Operation Khyber IV- Security forces captured strategic mountain top in Khyber Agency

Operation continues with major achievement last night when troops including SSG successfully cleared the highest and craggiest mountain top Brekh Muhammad Kandao near Pak-Afghan border. Many terrorists killed, few fled to Afghanistan.

Pakistan's armed forces have achieved tremendous successes in in Operation Khyber-IV. Our forces are properly trained and equipped to defeat terrorist groups. In order the eliminate terrorism, we need to coup with extremist mindset. Thee is a need to impart quality education, establish justice and provide equal economic opportunities to the masses. The operation will gain further achievements in the days to come.

"The intelligence sharing is very important in counter-terrorism operations. The armed forces also plan to deal with cross border support of terrorists during such operations. There is no possibility of foreign support to terrorists this time. The highly trained forces take part in such operations and they are backed by intelligence sharing as well. Our armed forces are equipped with capability to stop trans-border infiltration.

Economy is moving towards stability due to government's prudent policies- SBP keeps interest rate unchanged at 5.75 percent

State Bank of Pakistan has kept interest rate of 5.75 percent unchanged. This was stated by Governor State Bank Tariq Bajwa while announcing monetary policy for next two months in Karachi on Saturday. He said national economy is moving towards stability owing to government's prudent policies.

"In Pakistan, monetary policy is reviewed after every two months. Its purpose is to increase or decrease policy rates and control inflation and increase growth of the country. We have successfully controlled inflation in Pakistan. We have brought inflation from double digit to single digit under the current government. The government has taken GDP growth rate to above five percent, but we still need to compete with regional countries. It is responsibility of the government to strike a balance between revenues and expenditures of the country."
