Pakistan Muslim League (N) Sweeps AJK elections by winning 31 seats in the forty one members Legislative Assembly
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has extended his congratulations to the elected representatives and people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir on the successful conduct of general elections.
Pakistan Muslim League (N) has emerged as a single largest party in the AJK elections with winning 31 seats in the forty one members Legislative Assembly .According to unofficial results announced by AJK Election Commission,
All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference and Pakistan Peoples Party have won three seats each.Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-2,Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Party -1 and Independent candidate could win one seat only.Prime Minister hopes the newly elected MLAs of Azad Kashmir would reinforce their support to the people of Occupied Kashmir in their struggle for right to self-determination.In a statement in Islamabad, he said the peaceful elections in AJK are a victory of democratic forces that explicitly reflects the peoples' faith in democracy.The Prime Minister said winning or losing is part of elections, but the important thing for a vibrant democracy is the continuity of process.

Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said Pakistan will continue to provide moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for their right to self determination.He was winding up discussion in the Senate on a motion regarding the recent wave of aggression by the Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir. He said Pakistan will undertake all possible efforts to apprise the world community about the Indian atrocities.The Adviser rejected the Indian allegations that Pakistan is stirring trouble in the valley. He also rejected the Indian assertion that the situation in the valley is the internal matter of India.In occupied Kashmir, Chairman All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, and other Hurriyet leaders have called for observing Global Kashmir Day today and a march towards Islamabad town in the Valley on Monday.
