The AJK government is taking tangible measures for promotion and growth of wild life and fisheries in the State.

Official sources told Radio Pakistan Muzaffarabad representative that AJK Wild life and Fisheries department has earmarked 19 protective areas for the protection and conservation of wild life all over Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

He stated that a mini zoo of pheasants and wild animals is being set up at Banjosa with a cost of 28 million rupees.

Official further said that plan was afoot for setting up a similar mini zoo at Pir Chinasi another summer picnic resort in Muzaffarabad. 

He said fish hatcheries have also been set up at Kutton and Dwarian in Neelum valley. Warm water fish hatchery have also been established in Mangla Dam.
