Pakistan strongly condemns terror attack in Afghanistan
Army Chief says Pakistan and Afghanistan will defeat terrorism, which is their common enemy.
Pakistan has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a military base in Balkh province of Afghanistan which resulted in the loss of many precious human lives.
In a statement, Foreign Office spokesman extended heartfelt sympathies and deepest condolences to the government and people of Afghanistan as well as to the bereaved families.
He also reaffirmed Pakistan's continued commitment to work closely with the Afghan government and the international community in the fight against the scourge of terrorism.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif also expressed deep grief and sorrow over the terrorist attack in Afghanistan.
In his message, he said that the Government and the people of Pakistan stand in solidarity with the government of Afghanistan and Afghan brethren in this hour of grief.
He said the terrorists have struck the Balkh Province leading to the loss of the precious lives of Afghan soldiers and we strongly condemn this barbaric act of terrorism. He said our heart goes out to the victims of this terrorist attack. He expressed heartfelt condolences with the bereaved families and prayed for speedy recovery of the injured.
The Prime Minister said the terrorism is a common enemy and a threat to peace in the region. He said Pakistan feels the pain of Afghan brethren as we have also suffered from this scourge.
He reaffirmed that we stand by Afghanistan and its people in their fight against terrorism and pursuit of peace and stability.
Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has also condemned the terrorist attack at Mazar-e-Sharif in Afghanistan.
In his message, he expressed deep grief on loss of innocent lives and expressed solidarity with Afghan security forces and brotherly resilient Afghan nation.
Army Chief said that terrorists are our common enemy and we shall defeat them.
