PM reaffirms commitment to protect environment, conserve natural resources
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has emphasized that it is the duty of every Pakistani to preserve our natural endowments for posterity. In his message on the occasion of the global “Earth Day”, he said that every contribution by citizens, no matter how small, would make a difference. The Prime Minister reiterated the firm commitment and resolve of the Government to protect the environment and conserve Pakistan’s natural resources in collaboration with provincial and regional governments.
One belt, one road vision to benefit half of world's population: DAR
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar says One belt One road vision of Chinese President will benefit half of world's population. Talking to his Chinese counterpart in Washington on Saturday, he said Pakistan will play its due role to carry forward this vision. The Minister said Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank is also a great initiative of China and Pakistan has always been its supporter. The Chinese Finance Minister congratulated Ishaq Dar on putting Pakistan economy on robust growth track.
Pakistan to be among top 25 world economies by 2025: AHSAN
Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal says optimistic approach is must to turn the dreams of progress into reality. Addressing a prize distribution ceremony at a school in Lahore on Saturday, he said political stability and hard work will make Pakistan one of the top twenty-five economies of the world by 2025. The Minister said that continuously new advancements are taking place in education and teachers should produce brains which in future could emerge as scientists. He said the government is utilizing all available resources to equip new generation with modern knowledge.
Political parties should honour panama verdict: MARRIYUM
Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb says all the political parties should honor the verdict of the Supreme Court in letter and spirit and avoid its interpretations according to their own interest. In an interview on Saturday night, she said that all the five judges have rejected prays of the petitioners. She said that PTI is confused over the decision. She said that PTI has locked the Accountability Commission in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She said that Imran Khan is engaged in the politics of confrontation since 2013, but has failed at all the fronts. Marriyum Aurangzeb said that next general elections will be held in 2018 and PML-N will win the elections on the basis of its performance.
Sindh cabinet extends rangers' special powers
Sindh cabinet has approved extension in Rangers' policing powers for the next ninety days. The approval was accorded at a meeting of the provincial cabinet with Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in the chair in Karachi on Saturday. The meeting reviewed the prevailing law and order in the province with focus on Karachi and decided to further enhance capacity of Police force.
Security forces arrest 33 suspects in Balochistan
Thirty-three suspects were arrested during search operations conducted by FC and security agencies from different areas of Balochistan on Friday. According to ISPR, 30 suspects were arrested from Punjgur while three from adjoining areas of Quetta. Three camps used by the terrorists at Margat were also demolished. Huge cache of ammunition and number of communication devices were also recovered from their possession. Further investigations are underway.
