Indian troops launch CASO in Baramulla, Poonch, Pulwama

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops launched massive cordon and search operations in Baramulla, Poonch and Pulwama districts today (Sunday).

According to Kashmir Media Service, the troops arrested, at least, two persons including a prominent Hurriyat activist Naseer Ahmad Rather during an operation at Chatpura in Pulwama. 

Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesman while hailing Pakistan for tabling a resolution on the right to self-determination in the UN General Assembly in a statement issued in Srinagar urged the international community to fulfil its commitment to the Kashmiri people. The spokesman deplored the ongoing Indian state terrorism in IIOJK and appealed to the UN to settle the lingering Kashmir dispute in the light of its resolutions and as per aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

The resolution was moved by Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN, Munir Akram and it got unanimous support from delegates of 71 countries.

The Civil Society Forum Chairman, Abdul Qayoom Wani in a statement in Srinagar demanded immediate release of all Kashmiri detainees languishing in different Indian jails. He also called for shifting the prisoners from outside jails to Srinagar.

An analytical report released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, today, appreciated the Organization of Islamic Corporation for its unstinted support to the Kashmir cause.

An Indian soldier committed suicide with his service rifle at Nambal post in Poonch district. The incident raised the number of such deaths among Indian troops and police personnel in IIOJK to 481 since January 2007.
