Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain says Pakistan welcomes the opening of Kartarpur border.

Talking to media in Islamabad today (Thursday), he said the step will benefit the Sikh community as it is birth place of Baba Guru Nanak.

The Minister said Pakistan had given this suggestion because of its desire for peace.

He said Pakistan wants peace with both India and Afghanistan.

Meanwhile in a tweet message, Information Minister said Indian Cabinet's endorsement of Pakistan's proposition on opening of Kartarpur Border is a step in right direction.

He said it will encourage the voice of reasons on both sides of the border.

Navjot Sidhu hails Pakistan for opening Kartarpur border

Indian Punjab Cabinet Minister, Navjot Singh Sidhu has hailed government of Pakistan's decision for opening Kartarpur border for Indian Sikhs pilgrims.                 

According to a private news channel, Sidhu said Pakistan's decision to open Kartarpur border was indeed a great relief for Sikhs and other Indian pilgrims.

He said it was a good omen for rebuilding cordial relations between the two countries in future.
