Adviser to the Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam says "Billion Tree Tsunami" has become first entity in the world which met its all targets with regard to restoration and expansion of forests.
Addressing a ceremony in connection with International Biodiversity Day, he said the project also created many jobs and supported the economy.
He said the project not only helped Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but the whole Pakistan including the world in preservation of biodiversity.
Expressing his views, Secretary Forestry, Environment and Wildlife Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Syed Nazar Hussain Shah said the neglected areas were undertaken for the billion tree project and their land was rehabilitated.
On the occasion, the report regarding the impact of billion tree tsunami on the environment of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa' was also launched.
