World Earth Day was observed on Sunday.

This year's theme is 'End Plastic Pollution'.

On 22nd April 1970, Earth Day was observed for the first time. On that day, millions of people took to streets to protest the negative impacts of 150 years of industrial development.

Earth Day is now a global event in which more than one billion people from 192 countries take part.
