United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres has once again offered his mediation to play a helpful role in lowering the India-Pakistan tensions.

Responding to a question at his regular press briefing at UN Headquarters in New York, Deputy Spokesman of the UN Secretary General, Farhan Haq said it is imperative that India and Pakistan should de-escalate the tensions and resolve their differences through engagement.

The Spokesman said the Secretary General stands ready and his good office is available provided that both the countries agree to this course.
