Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif says Pakistan will continue to support all initiatives for regional peace and stability.


He said this while talking to Home Secretary of the United Kingdom Amber Rudd who called on him in Islamabad on Tuesday.


Nawaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan`s commitment to facilitate and support an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace and reconciliation process.


He emphasized the need for enhancing cooperation in trade and investment between Pakistan and United Kingdom.


The UK Home Secretary said that UK will continue extending all possible support and assistance to efforts made for regional peace.



Amber Rudd also called on Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan in Islamabad on Tuesday.


Bilateral relations and matters relating to security, counter-terrorism and immigration came under discussion during the meeting.


Interior Minister said Pakistan wants diplomatic and lawful solutions to the problems between the two countries.



Meanwhile, talking to the outgoing Saudi Arabian Ambassador Abdullah Marzouq Al-Zahrani in Islamabad on Tuesday the Prime Minister said deep relationship exists between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.


He said both the countries have common stand on global and regional issues. He said both the countries stand shoulder to shoulder with each other in difficult times.


The Prime Minister conveyed his good wishes for the custodian of the two Holy Mosques Salman Abdulaziz Al Saud as well as for progress and prosperity of the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.


The Ambassador thanked the Prime Minister for the warmth and hospitality extended to him during his stay in Pakistan.



Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has felicitated the Parsee community on the eve of Nowruz being celebrated on Tuesday. 


In his message on the occasion, he said Parsee community has rendered valuable services in different fields.


The Prime Minister hoped the community will continue its positive contribution in progress and prosperity of the country.



India has agreed to redesigning of Miyar Hydroelectric project, on River Chenab.


The agreement reached at two day meeting of Indus Water Commissioners of Pakistan and India on water issues in Islamabad on Tuesday.  


It was also agreed that Lower Kalnai, Pakal Dul projects will be inspected again.


The Pakistani delegation was headed by Mirza Asif Saeed while P K Saxena led the Indian delegation. 



Minister for Climate Change Zahid Hamid has said that Pakistan is taking effective steps to deal with issues of climate change.


He was addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Tuesday.


The Minister said that under the Climate Change Act, a Climate Change Council, Climate Change Authority and Climate Change Funds would be set up in the country.


He said that under Green Pakistan Program, 10 billion trees will be planted in next five years.



Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal laid the foundation stone of two coal based power plants of 1300 MW capacity at Hub area in Balochistan on Tuesday. 


The plants will be completed within two and half years at the cost of two billion dollars.


A jetty is also being constructed for import of the coal for these plants.



Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Mariyum Aurangzeb says the Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz is working for the development and prosperity of Pakistan as envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.


She was inaugurating an exhibition in connection with Pakistan Day in Islamabad on Tuesday.


The Minister of State said as a result of measures taken by the Government, Pakistan soon will become economically developed, free of terrorism and respectful country. She said Pakistan has achieved many successes in war on terror in the last three years.


She pointed out that programmes have been launched in education, health and human rights fields. 


Mariyum Aurangzeb said China Pakistan Economic Corridor will bring prosperity to Pakistan.   


The Minister of State said this year marks the seventy years of Pakistan`s creation and special preparations have been made to celebrate the year.


She urged media to highlight the Pakistan movement and the sacrifices rendered by all sections of society for creation of an independent homeland.



Full dress rehearsal of Pakistan Day parade was held at Shakarparian Parade Ground in Islamabad on Tuesday.


Strict security measures were in place in twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi to avoid any untoward incident.



Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif says Provincial government is fully facilitating foreign investors.


He was talking to a delegation of the Japanese investors, led by President of the Morinaga Milk Industries Mr. Michio Miyahara, in Lahore on Tuesday.


During the meeting, the Japanese delegation expressed willingness to invest in Punjab. 


Mr. Michio Miyahara said that Punjab Government has provided conducive environment for foreign investment in the province.                                           



Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair says Qatar has provided vital help in various sectors in the province.


He was talking to Consul General of Qatar Mishal Muhammad A. Al-Ansari in Karachi on Tuesday.


Qatari Consul General assured his government's continued cooperation for the development projects in Sindh.



European Union has welcomed the decision of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to reopen the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan


In a statement, it hoped that the decision will further strengthen relations between the two countries, which will benefit peace and stability in the region.                    



Operation Radd ul Fasad is successfully continuing across the country.


According to ISPR, Baloch sub- nationalist Ferrari Commander along with 20 other persons surrendered to Pakistan Rangers Punjab.


Surrendered Ferrari informed that they had been funded and supported by Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) of India through Brahamdagh Bugti. 



In Occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyet forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has strongly condemned the continued house arrest of its leader and imposition of curbs on his social, political and religious activities.  


In a statement issued in Srinagar on Tuesday, the forum said that the puppet administration has adopted an aggressive approach towards the resistance leadership.


A leader of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, also denounced the arrest spree unleashed by the puppet authorities ahead of so-called Indian Parliamentary by-elections in the held territory.


Meanwhile Indian police have arrested over three dozen people including teenage boys and old age civilians during house raids in Srinagar, Pulwama and Bandipore districts.



Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has promised to raise the issue of Palestinian statehood with U.S. President Donald Trump during his scheduled visit to Washington next month. 


He made these assertions in a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Cairo.


Al-Sisi also confirmed his country’s desire to reach a just solution of the issue and Palestinian state should be established with East Jerusalem as its capital.
