INDUS WATER

Indus Water Commissioners of Pakistan and India are continuing their discussion on water issues for the second day today in Islamabad.

 

The Pakistani delegation is headed by Mirza Asif Saeed while P K Saxena is leading the Indian delegation. 

 

Both sides discussed issues relating to water resources and  ways to resolve bilateral differences in yesterday's talks.

 

 

MARIYUM

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Mariyum Aurangzeb says the Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz is working for the development and prosperity of Pakistan as envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

 

She was inaugurating an exhibition in connection with Pakistan Day in Islamabad today.

 

The Minister of State said as a result of measures taken by the Government, Pakistan soon will become economically developed, free of terrorism and respectful country. She said Pakistan has achieved many successes in war on terror in the last three years.

 

 

She pointed out that programmes have been launched in education, health and human rights fields. 

 

 

Mariyum Aurangzeb said China Pakistan Economic Corridor will bring prosperity to Pakistan. 

 

PARK

First state-of-the-art Information Technology Park is to be set up in Islamabad as part of Prime Minister's vision of Digital Pakistan. 

 

An agreement to this effect was signed in Islamabad today between Ministry of  Information Technology and Korea Exim Bank for ten billion rupee loan.

 

Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar, who witnessed the signing ceremony, said the  government has a clear programme to digital and financially inclusive Pakistan.

 

He said Pakistan looks forward towards Korea for more closer cooperation.  

 

Minister of State for Information Technology Anusha Rehman said after Islamabad, international standard information technology parks would also be set up in Karachi and Lahore.

 

Representative of the Korean Exim Bank said his institution decided to cooperate with Pakistan in IT field in view of vast potential of the country in the sector. 

 

FUNDS

On the directions of Prime Minister, first tranche of Green Pakistan funds amounting to the tune of  553 million rupees have been  disbursed among provinces, AJK, Gilgit Baltistan and FATA on the eve of International Forest Day. 

 

Funds will be used to undertake afforestation across Pakistan for mitigating adverse impact of Climate Change.

 

Green Pakistan Funds have been sanctioned to all provinces without any preferences by the Prime Minister.

 

MURAD

Sindh Chief  Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed  to ensure provision of all basic facilities in all schools of the province particularly in girls schools on priority basis.

 

He was chairing a high level meeting of the education department in Karachi today.

 

Syed Murad Ali Shah ordered installation of Solar System in newly constructed schools.

 

The meeting was informed that 351 schemes worth 79.15 billion rupees are underway in educational department.

Sindh Rangers in a search operation on secrete information has recovered huge cache of weapons in Karachi today.

 

ZUBAIR

Accountant General Sindh Farukh Ahmed Hamdi called on Governor Sindh Mohammad Zubair in Karachi today and briefed him about the performance of his department.  

 

Speaking on the occasion the Governor lauded steps taken by the Accountant General for immediate payment of dues to the employees.

 

SISI-PALESTINE

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has promised to raise the issue of Palestinian statehood with U.S. President Donald Trump during his scheduled visit to Washington next month.

 

He made these assertions in a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Cairo.

 

Al-Sisi also confirmed his country’s desire to reach a just solution of the issue and Palestinian state should be established  with East Jerusalem as its capital.
