PARACHINAR

Twenty one people were killed and fifty-four injured in a bomb blast at vegetable market in Parachinar, Kurram Agency, this morning.

 

According to ISPR, the bomb blast occurred at 8:50 am. The injured have been shifted to hospitals.  

 

President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif have expressed their deep grief over loss of precious lives in the deadly blast.     

 

Expressing his condolences for the departed souls, they directed for urgent medical assistance to the injured.

     

Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra also condemned the blast and sympathized with the bereaved families.

 

The Interior minister sought report of the incident.

 

PM

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif says the world is appreciative of liberal economic policies and business friendly environment in Pakistan.

 

He was talking to media persons in London after his arrival from Switzerland where he attended World Economic Forum in Davos.

 

The Prime Minister said during his stay in Switzerland he highlighted Pakistan's economic strength in an effective manner and presented the country as a secure investment destination.

    

Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan's stock market has achieved first position in Asia while it has become 5th in the world.

 

He hoped the country will cross five percent GDP growth in coming fiscal year as the government is focusing on all crucial sectors of economy.

 

He said there is a significant decrease in loadshedding, and it would be a thing of the past very soon. Terrorism in the country has been curtailed due to operation Zarb-e-Azb. 

 

To a question, the Prime Minister said negative politics is not in the interest of Pakistan.    

 

SHAHBAZ-TALAL

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif says opponents have failed in their designs to hamper development process in the country.

 

Talking to MNA Talal Chaudhry in Lahore today, he said the country continues progressing in various sectors at a fast pace.

 

The Chief Minister said people have rejected those who do negative politics, and the politics of blame game will also be defeated in the next elections. 

 

MOTORWAY

Work on the construction of Swat Motorway is in progress.

 

Official sources told Radio Pakistan Peshawar Correspondent that the project, which is part of China Pakistan Economic corridor, will be completed at a cost of forty-one billion rupees by the end of this year.

 

It will link Islamabad-Peshawar motorway with Chakdara.

 

The Motorway, on completion, will boost tourism, trade and economic activities in Malakand division.

 

SUSPECTS

Twenty-five suspects were arrested during a search operation in Rustam area of Mardan district today.

 

The suspects include four proclaimed offenders.

 

Arms and ammunition were also recovered from them.

 

KASHMIR

In occupied Kashmir, Indian police has arrested the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik, and Hurriyet leader, Hilal Ahmad War, in Srinagar to prevent them from leading anti-India demonstrations, today.

 

Call for the demonstrations has been given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik on the occasion of completion of 27 years to the deadliest Gaw Kadal massacre.

 

Indian police lodged them in Central Jail and Kothi Bagh Police Station in Srinagar.

 

The puppet authorities have deployed Indian police and paramilitary personnel in Srinagar to prevent people from holding anti-India rallies.

 

SHUTDOWN

Meanwhile ,In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed in Gaw Kadal and its adjoining areas, today, on the completion of 27 years to the deadliest Gaw Kadal massacre.

 

All shops and business establishments are closed while traffic is off the road in Srinagar.

 

ITALY

In Italy, seven people were killed and many other injured in a bus crash on a motorway in northern area of the city today.

 

The bus was carrying around 50 passengers.
