Azhar Ali declared fit for Sydney ODI-Pakistan to take on Australia tomorrow
The fourth One Day International between Pakistan and Australia will be played on Sunday at Sydney.Australia leads the five-match series two-one.Match scheduled to begin at 14:20 local time (03:20 GMT)Earlier, Australia beat Pakistan by seven wickets in the third One Day International at Perth.Batting first Pakistan scored 263 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated fifty overs.Australia achieved the target in the 45th over for the loss of 3 wickets.
National Senior Squash C’ship from Jan 23
National Senior Squash Championship carrying prize money of Rs. 0.1 million will be commencing from January 23-27, 2017 at PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex.All arrangements have already been finalized for the smooth conduct of the Championship in which a total of 32 leading players, 16 in the main round and the other 16 will play a qualifying round for two-day.Besides a 12 top ranking players, four will qualify for the main round out of the 20 players with Munir Zaman of Wapda has given a wildcard entry.
Pakistan to send 35-member taekwondo contingent for Fujairah Championship
Pakistan will send its largest ever contingent to feature in the 5th Fujairah Open International Taekwondo Championship, scheduled to be held at Fujairah, UAE from February 23 to 25.President Pakistan Taekwondo Federation Waseem says“We’ve decided to send a 35-member contingent to chip in the event.This will be Pakistan’s largest ever participation in an international event”Federation wanted to give maximum exposure to youngsters ahead of the Islamic Solidarity Games, taking place in May in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Pak hockey team to tour Australia in April
Pakistan under-18 hockey team will tour Australia in April to participant in its national championship on a special invitation.“We have received an invitation from the Hockey Australia for the event and will be sending our team to feature in the event,” a Pakistan Hockey Federation’s (PHF) official.Pakistan juniors had not been getting international exposure due to shortage of funds but recently the federation had received Rs 800 million grant from the government.
Australian Open 2017: Serena Williams beats Nicole Gibbs to reach fourth round
Six-time champion Serena Williams eased past fellow American Nicole Gibbs to reach the fourth round of the Australian Open in Melbourne.The world number two, chasing a 23rd Grand Slam singles title, won 6-1 6-3 in 63 minutes on Rod Laver Arena.Williams, 35, goes on to face Czech 16th seed Barbora Strycova, who beat France's Caroline Garcia 6-2 7-5.
