Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan says development of backward areas is the top priority of the incumbent government.

Addressing a ceremony in Chakri near Islamabad on Saturday, he said the government is putting forth best efforts to honor the confidence reposed by the people.

He said in Chakri and other areas adjoining it there were no roads and bridges since the British left sub-continent but today the area has eleven bridges and well developed road network.

The Minister said during the last three years electricity supply, water supply schemes, roads network and health and medical facilities in the area were ensured.

He said the foundation of development is laid by leaders having pain for the masses.
