A day of mourning was observed on Thursday to express solidarity with the victims of Bacha Khan University, Charsadda terror attack.

The national flag flew at half-mast atop on all the government buildings. Collective Quran-Khawani was held at Bacha Khan University in Charsadda.

People belonging to different walks of life including students, teachers and elected representatives attended the Quran Khawani.

Special prayers for the martyrs were also held in other cities.

Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to provide financial assistance of two million rupees each to the heirs of those martyred in the terrorist attack on Bacha Khan University Charsadda yesterday.

According to an official statement issued in Peshawar, each injured person will also be provided four hundred thousand rupees.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet, at a meeting in Peshawar, strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Bacha Khan University Charsadda.           

The cabinet members vowed to take stern action against those responsible for the barbaric act. 

The cabinet was informed that heirs of martyred students will be provided two million rupees each while each injured will get four hundred thousand rupees as financial assistance.
