Efforts to improve petrol supply are underway and 6000 tons of additional petrol was supplied to filling stations on Wednesday [Jan 21] to augment its availability.    

This information was provided to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources in its daily report for the day.            

The reports say 18,000 tons of petrol was provided to petrol pumps against the daily demand of 12,000 tons.    

Meanwhile, another vessel carrying fifty thousand ton fuel will reach Karachi Port on Saturday. 

The spokesperson of the Pakistan State Oil (PSO) told Radio Pakistan that supply situation in the Punjab has improved after the arrival of fifty thousand tons of petrol.

He hoped that the situation will further be improved on the arrival of 3rd vessel carrying fifty thousand ton of petrol on the 29th of this month.

The spokesman said there is no shortage of petrol in Sindh and other parts of the country.
