Chinese President Xi Jinping has vowed to maintain strategic communication with Pakistan on regional and international issues.

Addressing joint sitting of the Parliament in Islamabad today, he said his country would always stand by Pakistan in its endeavour to achieve the goal of socio-economic development and prosperity.  He unequivocally stated that China firmly supports Pakistan for upholding its territorial integrity, sovereignty and national dignity.

Speaking in Nuqta-e-Nazar program of Radio Pakistan, PML-N Senator Tariq Azeem said: “President of China clearly admitted that China has historic friendly relations with Pakistan.  Chinese president vowed to support Pakistan in improving economy. The credit of economic revival goes to the present government and its efforts to improve bilateral relations with China. China has been making historic investment in Pakistan through China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.  President of china also admired the sacrifices of Pakistan in fight against terrorism.”

Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain said: “Addressing joint sitting of Parliament, Chinese President says our friendship is an asset for the future generations. People of Pakistan will observe a new Pakistan after the completion of projects in 2018 signed by both countries. The projects signed between the two countries worth approximately $ 45 billion. Pak-China Economic Corridor has vital significance in the region. All the countries of the region will get benefit from this corridor. Chinese government will train our youth in various departments so that they can play their constructive role to improve the economy of our country.”   

Minister of State for Communication Abdul Hakeem Baloch said: “Many short term and long term projects have been signed during visit of Chinese president to Pakistan. These projects include power projects, defense cooperation and technology projects. The completion of these projects will bring economic revolution in the region. China will also get benefit through Pak-China Economic Corridor but Pakistan will be the most benefited country. Other countries are also taking interest to invest in Pakistan as well.”

Senator National Party Dr. Ashok Kumar said: “Many development projects and MoUs have been signed during the visit of Chinese president to Pakistan. Gwadar project is also included in Pak-China Economic Corridor and Balochistan will have prosperity and progress through this project. All political parties have welcomed the visit of Chinese president. Many political leaders called on Chinese president.”

Analyst Dr. Pervaiz Iqbal Cheema said: “Pakistan was the first country to recognize China as an independent state in 1949. After that, China has supported Pakistan in every crucial time. Visit of Chinese president to Pakistan is very successful. Pakistan will get most benefit through Pak-China Economic Corridor. People will have more business opportunities and unemployment will be decreased.”
