AIHRC expresses concern over orphaned children due to war

Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission has expressed concern over the growing population of orphaned children due to ongoing conflict and war in the country.

In a statement, the Commission condemned a shocking and unprecedented increase in civilian casualties and said that conflict has denied Afghan citizens access to their basis human rights.

The statement stressed for inclusion of human rights institutions, women's rights groups, civil society and other diverse segments of Afghan society to achieve lasting peace in the country.

According to a report by the Commission, over 2,560 civilians including 631 children have been killed during first nine months of this year.
