The US says Afghanistan still remains the center of its attention.

Speaking to a panel of experts at the United States Institute for Peace, US Central Command Director for Strategy, Plans and Policy Major General Michael Langley admitted the victory will require a political reconciliation. He said the Taliban must engage in talks with the Afghan government.

Meanwhile, the panelists also said that the only solution to the conflict in Afghanistan is negotiations and talks.
