Pakistan, Russia agree on cooperation to check illicit drug trade
Interior Minister Ch Nisar and Director FDCS also agreed to further strengthen mutual cooperation in analysis and forensic capabilities
Director of Federal Drug Control Service, Russian Federation, Victor P. Ivanov called on Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan in Islamabad.
During the meeting, both the sides discussed Pak-Russia bilateral relations, mutual cooperation, regional situation and efforts to fight illegal drugs and the future strategy
The two sides agreed to further strengthen cooperation and invigorating Central Asian Anti-Drug Quintet that included Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Tajikistan and Russia.
They also agreed to further strengthen mutual cooperation in analysis and forensic capabilities.
Chaudhry Nisar suggested to establish a Pak-Russia Joint Working Group to put the existing bilateral cooperation on a fast track.
Victor P. Ivanov appreciated Pakistan's efforts for regional peace.
