Pakistan and Turkmenistan have resolved to make earnest efforts for early implementation of a trans-regional TAPI gas pipeline project, terming it a game changer and a win-win situation for all stakeholders.

This was stated by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said while addressing a joint press stakeout along with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Ashgabat on Wednesday.

The two leaders, who earlier held one-on-one and delegation level talks told the media that during the wide-ranging consultations on a whole range of bilateral relations, they discussed measures to counter the challenges that they face and exploit the opportunities available to them.    

In another important development , thirteen terrorists were killed in air strikes in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan. Five hideouts of the terrorists were also destroyed.

Speaking in Radio Pakistan’s Nuqta-e-Nazar program,Minister of State for Privatization , Muhammad Zubair said “Prime Minister has been making all out efforts to invite foreign investors to invest in development projects in Pakistan. Prime Minister’s top priority is to overcome energy crisis. Several power projects are underway to meet the energy crisis. TAPI gas pipeline project is also under consideration. With the efforts of present government, energy crisis will soon be overcome.”

Analyst , Dr. A.Z. Hilali said: “PM’s visit to central Asian countries is a positive gesture. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has arrived in Ashgabat on a two-day official visit to Turkmenistan.The foreign minister ofTurkmenistan received the Prime Minister at the airport. A formal welcome ceremony in honor of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was held at Azadi Square in Ashgabat. PM will sign certain MoUs and Agreements during this visit.These agreements will help Pakistan to overcome energy crisis. Pakistan could not progress without overcoming energy crisis. Priority of Pakistan is to improve bilateral relations with other countries. All countries in the region should support each other for peace and prosperity.Pakistan should play its role to improve bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan.To overcome the challenges is the priorities of present".

Analyst , Dr. Ghulam Mustafa said: “PM’s visit to Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan has vital importance. Pakistan wants to be the member of Shanghai Cooperation Organization. China Pakistan Economic Corridor will be beneficial for other countries of the region. Opposition leader has also supported PM’s visit to central Asian States. China Pakistan Economic Corridor will bring economic revolution in the region. Gwadar Port will result in maximizing trade activities and reduction in unemployment in the Pakistan”

Economist ,Dr. Gul Faraz said: “Turkmenistan is one of the important country in the Central Asian region. Turkmenistan is the fourth bigger country having gas reserves. China Pakistan Economic Corridor will help Pakistan to improve bilateral relation with Central Asian states in region. Pakistan should support Turkmenistan in education sector. Its student should be provided scholarships for education in Pakistan. Pakistan has been focusing to overcome energy crisis and central Asian countries could support Pakistan in this regard.”

Analyst , Dr. Arif Kamal said: “Operation Zarb-e-Azb, Khyber I, II and Karachi operation have been progressing successfully. Rehabilitation of TDPs is also underway. Armed forces have broken the back of the terrorists by destroying their hideouts and networks in North Waziristan Agency. All political parties should support government and armed forces in war against terrorism and mutual national interests. International community has been appreciating Pakistan’s efforts and sacrifices to eliminate terrorism. Afghanistan should support Pakistan in war against terror and stop cross-border movement of the terrorists.”

 Analyst, Fauzia Naseer said : “Terrorism has been reduced to a great extent after successful war against terrorism by the armed forces. Operation Zarb-e-Azb was a big challenge. Evacuating the areas of NWA and registrations of habitants, providing shelters and food to TDPs was big challenge for the government and armed forces. But government and armed forces unitedly overcome all these hurdles. Rehabilitation of TDPs has been facilitate TDPs by constructing homes, schools and hospitals for TDPs in their areas.”
