PAC directs to conduct audit regarding sale of PTCL shares
It has been asked to present investigation report of NAB regarding the PTCL privatization agreement within two weeks.
The Public Accounts Committee of National Assembly has directed Auditor General to conduct a detailed audit of agreement related to the sale of twenty six percent shares of PTCL.
The decision was taken at a meeting held under its chairmanship Sayed Khursheed Shah in Islamabad.
During meeting, the Chairman Privatization Commission Muhammad Zubair informed the body that National Accountability Bureau has identified flaws and lack of coordination between Etisalat and Ministry of Information Technology in agreement of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited privatization.
He apprised the committee that 800 million dollars are due towards Etisalat because the PTCL property could not be transferred to Etisalat in accordance with the agreement.
Chairman PAC directed to present the investigation report of NAB regarding the PTCL privatization agreement, within two weeks.
