Punjab’s Environment Protection Agency (EPA), under its ongoing anti-dengue drive, Tuesday sealed four more tyre shops after finding them a potential hub for dengue larva breeding.

District Officer Environment Rawalpindi Mian Mohammed Nawaz said  EPA teams visited around 26 sites including 16 tyre shops, nine junkyards and a nursery for inspection and prevention of lethal dengue mosquito's possible brought-up in the summer season.

During inspection, he said, although EPA teams found no dengue larva  but all possible measures were being taken to keep the surroundings clear of dengue mosquito.

Replying to a question, he said EPA teams have sealed 115 premises  including tyre shops and junkyards since February 1, 2014, after inspecting 2,347 tyre shops, junkyards, nurseries, under-construction sites and godowns.
