In occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has said that India’s National Investigating Agency (NIA) is being used as a war weapon to harass Kashmiri leaders.

In a joint statement issued in Srinagar the joint leadership said, the NIA is launching raids on residences of pro-freedom leaders and activists as a psychological war to stop voice of the people.

They said that such brutal tactics and coercive measures could not deter Hurriyet leaders from pursuing their mission, nor could make them surrender.

Meanwhile the High Court Bar Association has expressed concern over deteriorating conditions of detainees and under-trial prisoners in different jails of the territory and has sought the intervention by international human rights bodies to mitigate their sufferings.
