Govt to ensure uninterrupted power supply during Sehar, Iftar: Musadik
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Dr. Musadik Malik says Government has made all necessary arrangements for uninterrupted power supply during Sehri and Iftari, but the country is in the grip of heat, causing more consumption of fans, air conditioners and other electrical items. As a result, electricity shortfall has increased resulting in increased duration of load shedding.
Speaking in Radio Pakistan’s program, he said Prime Minister has directed the authorities concerned to take all possible measures on urgent basis to address the current loadshedding situation in order to mitigate the sufferings of the people at the earliest. Time period of load shedding in urban areas is six hours. Secretary Water and Power Younus Dagha in a meeting with PM today informed that there was an unprecedented surge in power demand on the first day of Ramadan which necessitated loadshedding for some time. Government has vowed to overcome energy crisis till the end of 2017.”
