Donald Trump sworn in as 45th US President
In his first presidential address, US President vowed to protect the US borders, create employment opportunities, and build domestic infrastructure.
Donald Trump was sworn in as 45th president of the United States in a big ceremony at Capitol Hill in Washington on Friday.
Chief Justice US Supreme Court John Roberts administered oath to him.
Former Presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, US senators, politicians and people from various walks of life were present during the inauguration ceremony.
In his inaugural address, the US President said we are joined in a great national effort to rebuild our country. He said we will face challenges and hardships in our task. Donald Trump promised to give real power to people. He said in past the establishment protected itself, but not the citizens of our country. From now onwards people will be the rulers of this nation. He also vowed to protect the US borders, create employment opportunities, and build domestic infrastructure.
Donald Trump also promised to eradicate radical terrorism from the face of the earth.
Earlier, anti-Trump protestors clashed with police on streets of Washington. Police fired gas to disperse protesters after stones were thrown and windows broken.
