The federal government has approved a water supply project for Thar Coal Field at a cost of over twelve point seven billion rupees.

A spokesman of Sindh government told Radio Pakistan Hyderabad's correspondent Tariq Mehmood that under the scheme a water channel will be constructed from Left Bank Out Fall Drain to Nabi Sar in Tharparkar district.

He said the water through this channel will be utilized for six hundred megawatt power generation plants based in Thar Coal field area.

The spokesman said Sindh government has also finalized re-settlement framework for rehabilitation of affectees of Thar Coal Power Projects and six hundred seventy million rupees have been allocated for this purpose.
