Govt committed to improve socio-economic condition of farmers: Arian
Provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Food says govt would procure wheat from growers on support price of Rs 1300 per 40 kg.
Provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Food, Punjab Assadullah Arian has said that present government is committed to improve socio-economic condition of farmers and enhancing per acre yield.
Talking to newsmen in Pindi Bhattian, he said that government would procure wheat from growers on support price of 1300 rupees per 40 kg to ensure provision of just return of their product.
Parliamentary Secretary said that the Punjab government was spending more than six billion rupees to remodel Lower Chenab Canal System to ensure irrigational water at tail ends of water courses.
He said that with the completion of this mega project not only irrigational water supply to districts Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Jhang and Toba Tek Sing would improve but also preserve wasting water.
