Chehlum of Haztat Imam Hussain (R.A) was observed today with due solmenity and reverence across the country.

Police and law enforcement agencies have adopted foolproof security arrangements for maintaining peace during processions and Majalis.

Special teams have been deployed outside Imambargahs and Mosques to avoid any untoward situation.

Walk-through gates have also been installed at entrance and exit points and complete physical search of the participants was being ensured.

The main procession of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain ( R.A) and his companions emerged from Nishter Park which after passing through its traditional route will culminate at Hussainian Iranian Imambargah Kharadar here on Sunday. Law enforcement agencies have adopted extraordinary security measure on the entire route of the main Chehlum Procession.

All roads, streets and lanes leading to route of main procession are closed mostly with containers or heavy vehicles to stop unwanted entries.

Chehlum of martyrs of Karbala was also observed in Gilgit Baltistan today.

Chehlum processions were brought out across the region in which mouners paid tributes to Imam Hussain(R.A) and his companions.

In Gilgit, the main procession started from Khazana road in morning which passing through traditional route culminated at Amphary in afternoon.

The procession passed resolution in which the participants condemned atrocities on Kashmiris by Indian brutal forces.

They demanded of UN to help stop killing of Kashmiris and compel India to lift curfew held Kashmir.

GB administration had made elaborate secutity arrangements for the security of processions.
