Railways Minister recommends to PM to regularize 8000 employees

Minister for Railways, Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has said that a recommendation has been made to the Prime Minister Imran Khan to regularize its eight thousand employees.

Addressing a press conference at the Railways Headquarters in Lahore on Saturday, he said that a handsome profit of one billion rupees has been added to the kitty of railways during the first fifty days of the PTI government.

He said that WiFi will be available in green line trains from the 30th of this month. He said that internet facility would also be provided in three trains within one week.         

The Minister said that one hundred coaches will be inducted in the system within one month to facilitate the travelers   

He said that the Pakistan Railways is making its policies under austerity and simplicity program.

Sheikh Rashid Ahmad reiterated the resolve to recruit employee in the department on merit.

He informed that the GPS system is available in new engines and GPS watches will be provided to drivers free of cost.

He said that Narowal train is going in loss as passengers do not purchase tickets on the Lahore Narowal route.

He said railways will soon introduce tracking system for cargo trains.  

Sheikh Rashid said that schools and resorts, adjacent to railway lines, will be closed from the 30th of this month.
