Rashid vows to overcome Railways losses, stopping political interference

Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has expressed his resolve to provide efficient train service to the peoples, overcome losses, stop political interference and transform Pakistan Railways into an innovative and corruption free organization.

Speaking during a briefing in Ministry of Railways, he said there would be no political interference in Pakistan Railways.

The Minister said people would be provided modern facilities in trains.

He said there is a dire need to upgrade Railways’ freight services and the reasons of losses would be studied in detail.

He said the locomotive must not stop and Railways should be changed by introducing innovations.

Later, talking to news persons in Islamabad, Minister for Railways Shiekh Rasheed Ahmad has said that zero tolerance policy will be adopted against the scourge of corruption in Pakistan Railways in order to make it more effective and efficient.

He said railways will have a great role in China Pakistan Economic Corridor.

The Minister said that thirty-two railways station will be upgraded and the system of online booking will be modernized.

Shiekh Rasheed Ahmad said through giving top-priority to the CPEC, Lahore-Rawalpindi double track will be constructed.

He said Chaklala and Margala railway station will be upgraded while Railways Museum will also be upgraded and the fast food companies will be asked to establish food street there.
