US has offered to help ease tensions in the political and economic dispute between Japan and South Korea.

Talking to reporters at White House in Washington, President Trump said the offer was made after South Korean President Moon Jae-in had asked him for intervention.

Earlier, top US diplomat for East Asia policy, David Stilwell said in Seoul that US took the situation seriously.
