Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has urged the corporate sector to utilize their funds for establishing free treatment facilities for cancer patients in the country.

Addressing a ceremony of fund-raising for Cancer Care Hospital in Karachi, he said the government is striving to provide efficient healthcare facilities to people but the existing infrastructure is insufficient to cope with the fast spreading disease.

The Prime Minister said it is a painful to know that seventy five per cent of cancer patients in Pakistan die without any treatment. He called for measures for early detection of the disease.

The Prime Minister announced one hundred million rupees for the Cancer Care Hospital. He also urged philanthropists to generously donate for the hospital to make the project a success in providing best medical care to the people.
