Pakistan has underscored the need for stepped up efforts towards implementing the United Nations' 2030 development agenda that places high priority on ensuring access to affordable energy for all. 

Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the World Body, Dr Maleeha Lodhi in her remarks at a meeting on Sustainable Energy in New York said that effective and comprehensive implementation of the energy goal is important and urgent.

She also stressed the need for universal access to affordable, reliable and modern energy services.
