In Syria, at least thrity-six pro-government fighters have been killed in clashes with IS militants in Qadam municipality near Damascus. 

According to Syrian war monitoring group, Islamic State militants also captured a largely vacant neighborhood Qadam following intense fighting with pro-government forces.

There was no immediate comment from the government.
