Masood vows to make AJK self-sufficient in energy
President of Azad Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan has vowed to make AJK self-sufficient in energy.
Addressing a conference in Islamabad today, he said his government is focusing on building large, medium and small dams. In the category of large dams, Neelum-Jhelum, with the capacity of 969 megawatt, will be on the national grid in February next year.
The President of AJK said that other projects in the pipeline are at Azad Pattan and Mahal, with the projected capacity of 640 MW and 590 MW respectively. Large projects identified for development in the future are at Chakhoti, Dundial,Ashkot, Sehra and Rajdhani.
