Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur feels that if there would be a role for Shahid Afridi in Pakistan cricket then he will be brought back. Mickey said Afridi has been a fantastic player for Pakistan for many years and you don't discard phenomenal players like that very easily. Speaking about Pakistan’s struggle in twenty20 cricket, Mickey said one learns a lot from franchise cricket tournaments.

Trials for selection of Punjab hockey teams
Punjab Hockey Association will hold trials for the selection of its teams to take part in the U-18 Boys Hockey Championship being played from May 22 at Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium, Jinnah Sports Complex, and Islamabad. In all sixteen teams from different parts of the country will be taking part in the national junior championship.

Commissioner Karachi Says KARACHI SPORTS FESTIVAL by Year-End
The Commissioner Karachi says Sports Festival will be organised in Karachi by the end of 2016 in which sportsmen from across Sindh would participate. According to a press release, Commissioner Karachi Syed Asif Hyder Shah informed this at a meeting with a delegation of Sports Journalists Association Sindh (SJAS) in Karachi. Sports Emerging Awards would be introduced at the event in order to promote the young talent. The commissioner expressed the desire of organizing an international sports event in Karachi and said the Commissioner Karachi Sports Festival would provide opportunities to the new talent.
Bolt fit for Ostrava, eyes 9.8sec
Usain Bolt said he was fit to run at the Czech Golden Spike event on Friday after a hamstring scare, looking at 9.8 seconds for the 100-metre. The event in the eastern Czech city of Ostrava will be the Jamaican sprint star's second race this season in the run-up to the Rio Olympics in August, where he will defend his 100m, 200m and 4x100m titles from 2012. Bolt, who owns the 100m world record at 9.58 seconds and the world 200m record of 19.19, clocked a modest 10.05 seconds on the 100m track in his season debut at the Cayman Invitational Meet last week.
National Wrestling Championship begins from May 26
The 62nd National Wrestling Championship (Free Style) and 6th Beach Championship will be held from May 26-29 in Gujranwala. Secretary Pakistan Wrestling Federation Arshad Sattar told that as many as ten teams from all over the country would take part in these two events. The teams include Pakistan Railway, Pakistan Army, Pakistan,WAPDA, Pakistan Police, Punjab, KPK, Balochistan, Sindh, Islamabad and FATA. Wrestlers will contest in eight weight categories - 57 Kg,61Kg, 66Kg, 70Kg, 75 Kg, 86 Kg, 97 Kg and 120 Kg.
Bodla launches project to promote martial arts
Pakistani Taekowndo black belt Ahmad Amin Bodla has launched a project named “Solid Self Defense (SSD)”, with an aim to promote martial arts among youth across the country. Bodla, who holds the record for most martial arts kicks in one minute (355 kicks), said currently we are working on teaching women about self defense in only two weeks. Bodla also holds the record for most martial arts kicks in one hour (6970) and most full contact knee strikes in one minute (79).
Floodlight Kabaddi tournament on Friday
A floodlight Kabaddi tournament will be organised at Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad here on Friday. President Punjab Kabaddi Circle Association, Naseer Yousuf Vohra says that well known players will take part in this tournament for which arrangements have been completed. Entry for the spectators will be free of cost.
