DAY-REHEARSAL:

The full dress rehearsal of Pakistan Day parade was held  at Shakarparian Parade Ground in Islamabad on Sunday.

 

Foot columns of Army, Navy, Pakistan Air Force, Frontier Corps, Northern Light Infantry, Mujahid Force and other services participated in the event, while scores of fighter aircraft of PAF, Pakistan Navy and helicopters of Army Aviation also rehearsed flypast for the final day.

    

Strict security measures were taken in twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi to avoid any untoward incident.   

      

STRATEGY:

The Government is planning to establish Science and Technology Institutes in different disciplines for rapid socio economic development in the country.

 

For this purpose, Ministry of Science and Technology has devised a National Science, Technology and Innovation Strategy.

 

A summary for approval of the Strategy document has been sent to the Prime Minister.

       

SESSIONS:

The Senate and National Assembly will resume their sessions at Parliament House in Islamabad on Monday afternoon after two days break.

 

The Senate will resume its session at 3:00 p.m while National Assembly at 4:00 p.m.

 

Both the houses will discuss important national issues besides carrying out legislative business.

 

Bill for revival of military courts is also expected to be presented in the National Assembly on Monday.

 

RIGHTS:

Government has taken a number of steps for the protection of human rights in the country.

 

According to official sources, Action Plan for Human Rights approved by the Prime Minister last year is being implemented with particular focus on protection of rights of women, children minorities and marginalized groups. 

 

The Action Plan provides monitoring mechanism in order to ensure the protection of human rights in the country.

 

The Government has also established an empowered Commission on Human Rights to take action against any human rights violations.                       

           

TATARSTAN:

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov has commended development vision of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and appreciated steps taken for fast-track development in the province.

 

He stated this wile departing from Lahore to Tatarstan at Lahore airport on Sunday. 

 

Shahbaz Sharif said that the visit of the President of Tatarstan to Lahore is a great honor for Pakistan.

 

Tatarstan President was on two days official visit to Pakistan. 

 

ARREST:

Law enforcement agencies have arrested seventy suspects during search operations in different areas of Bannu district.

   

The arrests also include fifteen proclaimed offenders.

 

Arms and ammunition were recovered from them.

           

CHAGAI:

Iranian authorities have handed over sixty-one Pakistani immigrants to FIA at Taftan border in Chagai district.

 

According to official sources the detained Pakistani immigrants were living in Iran without legal documents.

       

GILANI:

In Occupied Kashmir, Chairman All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has criticized the Indian authorities for restricting and arresting pro-freedom leaders. 

 

In a statement issued in Srinagar on Sunday Syed Ali Gilani termed it as frustration of the puppet regime.

 

He said, the election process in occupied Kashmir has been reduced to mere drama by the Indian government and they are scandalizing the whole exercise through deceitful means.

       

NORTH KOREA:

North Korea has conducted a ground test of a new type of high-thrust rocket engine.

 

The country leader Kim Jong Un has termed it a revolutionary breakthrough for the country's space program.

 

According to reports of Korean Central News Agency, Kim attended the test at the Sohae launch site.

         

TURK-GERMAN

Turkey's Foreign Ministry has condemned Germany for allowing terrorist PKK followers to march in the city of Frankfurt. 

 

In a statement, the ministry said it is a thought-provoking case as Germany declared Kurdistan Workers Party as a terrorist group but allowed its symphatizers to use symbols and posters of jailed leader Abdullah Ocalan during the march.

 

The ministry said that Germany's envoy in Ankara has been informed about the discomfort on the issue.
