Strict security measures have been taken in Islamabad and Rawalpindi to avoid any untoward incident on Pakistan Day
The full dress rehearsal of Pakistan Day parade was held at Shakarparian Parade Ground in Islamabad on Sunday. Foot columns of Army, Navy, Pakistan Air Force, Frontier Corps, Northern Light Infantry, Mujahid Force and other services participated the event, while scores of fighter aircraft of PAF, Pakistan Navy and helicopters of Army Aviation also reheared flypast for the final day. Strict security measures have been taken in twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi to avoid any untoward incident. Mobile phone service suspended in different parts of Islamabad and Rawalpindi in connection with Full Dress Rehearsal has now been restored.
Operation Radd-Ul-Fasaad: LEAs arrest 70 suspects in Bannu
Law enforcement agencies (LEAs) have arrested 70 suspects during search operations in different areas of Bannu district. The arrests also include fifteen proclaimed offenders. Arms and ammunition were recovered from them.

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has told China's President Xi Jinping that President Donald Trump looks forward to visiting his country, and to enhancing understanding between the states. Mr Tillerson met the Chinese leader in Beijing's Great Hall of the People, as his East Asian tour comes to an end. Mr Xi said he was glad to see good progress from Mr Tillerson's meetings.
Turkey condemns Germany allowing terrorist PKK rally
Turkey's Foreign Ministry has condemned Germany for allowing terrorist PKK followers to march in the city of Frankfurt. In a statement, the ministry said it is a thought-provoking case as Germany declared Kurdistan Workers Party as a terrorist group but allowed its sympathizers to use symbols and posters of jailed leader Abdullah Ocalan during the march. The ministry said that Germany's envoy in Ankara has been informed about the discomfort on the issue.
Arab league discussed Libya conflict in Cairo
The Arab League held a meeting in Cairo for holding discussions on the conflict in Libya. The meeting was attended by Secretary-General of the pan-Arab body, envoys from African Union, UN and EU foreign policy chief. According to Anadolu Agency report, the meeting began with a closed session, which would tackle developments in Libya, and efforts are being made to settle the crisis and bridge the gap between rivals in the country.
N. Korea conducts ground test of high-thrust rocket engine
North Korea has conducted a ground test of a new type of high-thrust rocket engine. The country leader Kim Jong Un has termed it a revolutionary breakthrough for the country's space program. According to reports of Korean Central News Agency, Kim attended the test at the Sohae launch site. He said the whole world will witness what eventful significance and the great victory we have achieved now.
Thousands flee Iraq's Mosul as battle edges into old city
In Iraq, thousands of civilians have surged out of Mosul during a lull in heavy fighting between government forces and Islamic State militants around the densely populated old City. Government forces have cleared the east and half of western Mosul and are now focused on controlling the Old City. According to reports, more residents are fleeing the liberated areas due to scarcity of food and water, fragile security and fear of being caught in cross shelling.

The G-20 countries have dropped their anti-protectionist and climate pledges after Washington refused to sign up to the commitment. Finance Ministers from G-20 developed and developing nations could not reach a deal on the two subjects during a two-day meeting in Germany.
Yemen: 8 killed in Saudi-led coalition air raids
In Yemen, eight rebels have been killed in a Saudi-led coalition air raid on their convoy near Burj town in Taez province. The convoy was carrying two senior rebel leaders but they survived in the attack. Meanwhile, dozens of rebels were killed and wounded in a series of Saudi-led coalition strikes on their training camp in Hodeida province.
