Commission to be set up for recommendations to protect journalists
PM stated this while talking to widow of former US Diplomat Richard Holbrook.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said we want to see Pakistan as journalist friendly country.
He said this during a meeting with widow of former US Diplomat Richard Holbrook, Kati Marton who called on him in Islamabad today [Wednesday]. Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan will ensure security of local and foreign journalists.
The Prime Minister said Pakistan has decided to establish a commission to evolve recommendations for journalists protections. The commission will include media, government and other important official representatives.
Kati appreciated the Prime Minister\\\\\\\'s resolve to fortify democratic institutions and norms in the country, especially strengthening supremacy of law.
She said sentence for the culprits involved in the killing of journalist Wali Khan Babar has strengthened supremacy of law in Pakistan delivering a strong message to the international community.
