Govt committed to safeguarding womenâ€™s rights: President
President Mamnoon says allocation of 50 per cent share for women in the prime ministerâ€™s youth loan scheme reflects govt resolve to empower women.
President Mamnoon Hussain says the government is taking measures for socio-economic empowerment of women.
Talking to a delegation headed by Chairperson National Commission on the Status of Women Khawar Mumtaz in Islamabad on Thursday, he said efforts are also afoot to ensure equal opportunities to women in order to make them valuable citizens and productive members of society.
The President said that allocation of 50 per cent share for women in the Prime Minister’s Youth Loan Scheme clearly reflected the Government’s trust and commitment to provide women of the country maximum opportunities to grow and excel in every walk of life.
Addressing the Convocation of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology in Islamabad, the President said the Government is trying to provide best possible facilities of higher education to our students.
He said an accelerated development in the field of science and technology is imperative for sustainable progress and prosperity of the country.
The President hoped that Prime Minister's Youth Programme will also prove to be a milestone in promoting education in Pakistan.
