The Senate was informed on Wednesday that the Pakistan Railways has retrieved 3573 acres of land worth 9.5 billion rupees by conducting anti-encroachment operation across the country.

Minister of State for Interior Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman told the House during question hour that at present 4196 acres of Railway land is either encroached by private or government departments throughout the country. He said the campaign is still continuing against the encroachers.

Responding to a calling attention notice moved by Nehal Hashmi and Muhammad Ateeq Shaikh regarding the maltreatment of a female PIA passenger, her sister and daughters while traveling to Oslo, Norway from Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad by a lady officer of FIA and staff, Minister of State for Interior Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman told the House that soon after the incident the Interior Minister took the notice of the incident and sought inquiry into it. He said the report of the inquiry was received but the Minister was not satisfied with it and ordered another inquiry the report of which will be finalized by Friday. He said one FIA official and the shift incharge have been suspended. He said that the passengers were traveling through the Turkish Airline.

The Senate today passed "The Limited Liability Partnership Bill, 2017".

The bill moved by Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan provides to make provisions for the incorporation, regulation and winding up of limited liability partnerships as body corporate and related matters.

Minister for Industries and Production Ghulam Murtaza Khan Jatoi said that Engineering Board is being restructured to make it more effective.

He was concluding the discussion on a motion moved by Ateeq Shaikh regarding the disagreement of FBR with the case of promoting the pioneer industry of Engineering Sector forwarded by Government to FBR.

He said each department of the board will have separate director and order to this effect has been issued.

The House will now meet tomorrow morning at ten.
