Over 8900mw electricity to be added to national grid by June 2018: PM
Nawaz Sharif says completion of Bhikki power project in a record period of 18 months is beginning of a new chapter in national history. Due to PML-N government speedy completion of power projects, a total of 8946 megawatt of electricity will be added to the national grid by June next year. New power projects being inaugurated every month or so, will ease power crisis in the country. Sahiwal Coal Power Project of 660 MW will start power generation in June this year. Similarly, Port Qasim Power project of 660-MW will start generation by the end of this year.

President calls for further promoting trade ties with South korea

President Mamnoon Hussain says Pakistan can benefit from experiences of South Korea to further strengthen its agriculture sector. President pointed out that Pakistan can attract tourists from South Korea by introducing to them the religious sites of Buddhism and other picturesque places. The President also emphasized the need for further promoting trade relations between the two countries.
US President orders a review of the Iran nuclear deal
US President Donald Trump has ordered a review of the Iran nuclear deal. This has been disclosed in a letter to Congress by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. He acknowledged the Iranians had met the terms of the 2015 deal, but raised concerns about the country as a "state sponsor of terrorism".
OIC concerned over trend of banning Hijab and headscarves in European countries
A new assessment released by the Islamophobia Observatory of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) stressed that the trend of outlawing veil, headscarf, hijab, niqab, and burqa in Europe deserves particular attention. It has noted with regret that at least 12 European countries have partially or fully banned these symbols of Muslim identity and the pattern indicates complete ban of headscarf in Europe in a manner which is beyond security considerations.
